What is Applied Spatial Intelligence?
The foundation of spatial intelligence is knowing "where" information happens and the effect it has on its surroundings. Applied Spatial Intelligence can be defined as "the practice of using spatial technologies such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Aerial and Satellite Imagery, Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GPS, Glonass, Galileo) and Spatial Databases to visualize and enhance your understanding of natural occurrences, human impact and situational or hypothetical conditions".

Today with the proliferation of cloud computing and mobile devices and the explosion of web maps, global technology leaders such as Esri, Google, Microsoft and Apple are pushing the boundaries of spatial awareness. The benefits derived from location-based information are now known to save lives by preventing crime and the spread of disease, conserve resources by increasing efficiencies and profitability, control pollution by identifying and tracking illicit discharges… the list goes on and on. It doesn’t matter who you are, where you are or what you do, Applied Spatial Intelligence is mission critical.
“eGIS, was instrumental in getting us over a development hurdle by creating an efficient widget for our ArcGIS Server application. In addition, their effective design provided a great example for us to learn from in thinking about future projects.”
